Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions Established
an ATM Sales and Maintenance Company in Thailand
Seeking to Accelerate Development of the ATM Business
Tokyo, December 21, 2015 --- Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions, Corp. ("Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions") today announced that it established Hitachi Terminal Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a local ATM sales and services subsidiary in the Kingdom of Thailand. Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions reinforces its ATM business in Thailand, ranging from sales to maintenance services, to accelerate expansion of its global business.
Thailand is one of the most populous nations in Asia with a population of 65 million. There are many ATMs installed across Thailand, which ranks second after Indonesia in terms of the number of these machines installed in ASEAN nations. As is the case with many other countries around the world, most of the ATMs used in Thailand today are cash dispensing ATM ("CDs"). However, given the growing awareness among financial institutions of the need for efficient cash management, solutions for queuing problems at teller windows, and depositing into bank accounts, demand is expected to grow in Thailand for cash recycling ATMs in the years to come.
Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions has marketed ATMs while providing related services in Thailand in collaboration with local distributors ever since it entered the market there in 1990 with CDs. It started marketing cash deposit ATMs in Thailand in 2000, and then began shipping cash recycling ATMs to one of the leading commercial banks in 2009, assisting with the first cash recycling operations launched in Thailand. Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions has done many things over the last 25 years to contribute to the development of the financial infrastructure in Thailand.
Building on these achievements, Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions has established a local subsidiary in Thailand, aiming to further expand the ATM business there. We will stay focused more than ever on providing products and services tailored to the needs of customers in Thailand, responding to diversifying demands while proposing solutions to address business challenges confronting local customers.
